This is one of our cleft cases, a baby suffering from a deformed nose and upper lip and palate. The first surgery was to close and seal the gap formed at birth between his nose and mouth so that he could be comfortable without substances entering his airway. The second surgery would be after he matures, to close the upper palate so that there would be no issues in adulthood.
